No backstory necessary because you already know the stories that went into making each track from the full versions, and these naturally are their instrumental versions, although I will say that running them back and playing them through, I actually was really grooving to them as I was busy doing last minute sound level edits, tracklist ordering, cover design, etc. and I played through it about 5 times in a row, so this is DEFINITELY a good project to play straight through for getting work done, dancing/working out, cleaning up, and various other activities!
Plus, without the vocals, you get to get an idea of what it takes to build around that, whether it be melodies you're already familiar with or brand new arrangements or originals, the foundation of a song is the backing track that creates the atmosphere and energy that the vocals can be immersed in and shine from.
